Higher education institutions are regularly reviewed to assess how they ensure the quality of their activities. Quality assurance and accreditation procedures serve to systematically evaluate and further develop these aspects, with the aim of ensuring transparent standards, strengthening confidence in higher education qualifications, and continuously improving educational provision. Accreditation confirms that a higher education institution or degree programme meets established quality standards. It also provides a basis for the recognition of qualifications and academic titles, thereby supporting mobility within the European Higher Education Area. As part of the accreditation procedure, a panel of experts conducts the review. One member of this panel is a student representative.

Your role as a student
The perspective of students on study content, supervision, learning conditions, and opportunities for participation in their studies is essential. Their voice contributes to further developing and improving the quality of higher education in the interest of students.
Nominated students take part in an accreditation procedure as equal members of the review panel. Serving as a student reviewer is not only exciting and instructive – it is also fairly compensated (CHF 1,200 – 2,400). In addition, you gain valuable insights into quality assurance and higher education development, and you have the opportunity to contribute to high-quality teaching.

Accreditation ReportsTo participate in an accreditation procedure, you must either be currently enrolled at a higher education institution or have graduated no more than 12 months before the respective procedure takes place. Additional requirements vary depending on the type of accreditation procedure.

Where no date is indicated, it will be determined jointly. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the agency. The procedure will be conducted in the language specified for each case. Therefore, you must have language proficiency at C1 level in the respective language.
