The Swiss Student Union was founded in 1920 and represents the interests of the student bodies of universities of applied sciences, universities of teacher education, cantonal universities and federal institutes of technology at federal level. The Union relies on the voluntary commitment of its members. In addition to the Executive committee, various commissions therefore form the core of the Union. The Executive committee as a whole, headed by a Co-Presidency, is responsible for operational management. It is the mouthpiece of the Union to the outside world and works to ensure that the students are heard on the national level.
