OneHSLU – Übergreifender Studierendenrat der Hochschule Luzern

Founded in 2021, the OneHSLU coordination body enables all students at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts to voice their concerns and interests across disciplines and thus contribute to the development of the entire institution. OneHSLU promotes diversity and community within the HSLU and maintains close contact with the rectorate. The committee is made up of students from the six departments: Technology & Architecture, Economics, Computer Science, Social Work, Design Film Art, and Music.

FAE HES-SO – Fédération des Associations Étudiantes de la Haute École Spécialisée de Suisse Occidentale

The FAE HES-SO is an essential part of the HES-SO student ecosystem. As an umbrella organisation, the FAE brings together a patchwork of student associations, each bringing its own colour and energy. It is a lively crossroads where the ideas, projects and aspirations of thousands of students meet and mingle. The FAE is a well of knowledge from which each association draws to enrich and develop itself, and it is also the engine that propels the demands and needs of students to the top of the HES-SO, in a concerted effort to improve our academic environment. In this vast web woven by the FAE, each association finds its place, each voice counts, shaping a rich, diverse and vibrant student landscape.

StudentiSUPSI – Associazione studenti SUPSI

Founded in 2017, the SUPSI Student Association aims to promote student life at the university. It represents students within the departments and affiliated schools. It is in direct contact with the SUPSI management and promotes student participation in institutional life. The association is a point of contact for students and the university administration. It is managed by an administrative committee that promotes and administers all activities proposed by the association, whether they are recreational, sporting, or personal and professional development activities. Through its activities, the association aims to promote interdisciplinarity and support the development of networks, not only among students but also with partners in the region.

VERSO – The student organization at ZHdK

As the ZHdK’s Student Organisation, we want to achieve the best possible conditions for the studies. Our goal is a high-quality and contemporary education in the arts. Among other things, we advocate equal opportunities for all students and fight for a compatibility of studies and employment / family. In addition, VERSO accompanies the preparation of all legal bases relevant to students, such as study regulations and rules. VERSO sees itself as a service for students, develops and supports projects in their interest and advocates for a lively student culture. In case of emergency, we support students in claiming their rights regarding the university.

VSPHS – Association of Student Organizations at Swiss Universities of Teacher Education

The merger of student organizations at teacher training colleges into an umbrella organization promotes communication between individual institutions. As a result, a national student council has been established. We represent student interests and promote exchange between the various sections. Other objectives include participation in curriculum development, improving the quality of teacher training, and supporting the individual sections in their activities. students.fhnw – Studierendenorganisation der Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz

As the official student organization of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), students.fhnw represents the interests of students vis-à-vis the university, politicians, and society. The student body also deals with quality management and strives to develop new offerings outside the university, such as a FHNW GA travelcard. In addition, students.fhnw organizes various events to ensure that everyday life at FHNW is not just about intellectual work and that the different locations have a chance to get to know each other. The student representation is democratically structured and every member has the right to vote and stand for election.

VSBFH Dachverband – Verband der Studierenden der Berner Fachhochschule

The Bern University of Applied Sciences Student Association is the official representative body for all students enrolled at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Together with the sub-associations of the various departments/faculties, we support students in participating in discussions about the university, university policy, and science. To ensure that all students can pull together despite the lack of a central campus at the BFH, we promote the flow of information and cooperation between the school management and the various departments/subject areas and sub-associations. We also represent the diverse interests of students vis-à-vis the school management, politicians, and the general public. The VSBFH umbrella organization was founded in 2006 in response to the announcement of an increase in tuition fees. You can find out more about its history here.

SUB – Studierendenschaft der Universität Bern

The SUB is the official association of students at the University of Bern. It aims to help its members with their studies and everyday life at the university. The SUB offers various services and advice. At the same time, it represents the interests of students at all levels, from the institutes to the canton. The SUB also has a network at national and European level. When you enroll at the University of Bern, you automatically become a member of the SUB and can get involved in various committees. SOL – Studierendenorganisation Universität Luzern

SOL is the umbrella organization for all student associations at the University of Lucerne. We are here to represent the interests of students in matters relating to university and education policy at the university, cantonal, and national levels. Or, to put it more simply, we strive to provide our students with the best possible university experience. To achieve this, we are active on several levels.

VSUZH – Verband der Studierenden der Universität Zürich

The VSUZH is the official student body at the University of Zurich. It represents the concerns and interests of students at the University of Zurich at both the university and cantonal levels and promotes networking among student associations at UZH. At the national level, the VSUZH is involved in higher education policy issues as a member of the VSS. The VSUZH also offers its members a wide range of services, including numerous discounts and advice centers. The VSUZH is the latest chapter in the long history of student life in Zurich. skuba – Studentische Körperschaft der Universität Basel

As the official student representative body at the University of Basel, skuba represents the interests of more than 10,000 students. In addition to organizing and promoting student participation, skuba advocates for student concerns. As the highest governing body, the Student Council meets regularly during the semester and elects the Executive Board. The board is made up of the departments of Internal Affairs, External Affairs, Teaching & Quality Assurance, Social Affairs, and Culture. In addition to its involvement in university politics, skuba runs the Verso cultural center, where students can meet, exchange ideas, and enjoy cultural activities together. FEN – Fédération des étudiant.e.x.s neuchâtelois.e.x.s

The FEN is the umbrella organization for all students at the University of Neuchâtel. It is a public-law corporation established by the Law on the University of Neuchâtel. The main tasks of the FEN, which are carried out mainly by a seven-member board and a secretary general, are to defend student interests within the university as well as at the cantonal and national levels. The FEN advocates for the broadest possible access to education; provides financial support to student organizations at the university; offers legal services; creates affordable housing for students; and promotes sustainability within the university.

VSETH – Verband der Studierenden an der ETH

The VSETH represents the interests of all ETH students vis-à-vis the university management. It acts as a point of contact for study-related problems. It also offers many services for its members and organizes numerous events that contribute to the social integration of students. Last but not least, it provides infrastructure for various student organizations and is the umbrella organization for the professional associations that represent students in a particular field. Now organized as an association, VSETH celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2012. In 1862, students at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology joined together to form the “Polytechnischer Verein zu Zürich” (Polytechnic Association of Zurich). CUAE – Conférence Universitaire des Associations d’Etudiant.e.x.s

The CUAE is the umbrella organization and union for students at the University of Geneva. The CUAE aims to defend the interests of students while also offering them a range of services. The CUAE is politically independent, has democratic structures, and is open to any student organization at the University of Geneva whose statutes are compatible with those of the CUAE.

FAE – Fédération des Associations d’Étudiant·e·x·s de l’Université de Lausanne

The FAE brings together the student organizations of the individual faculties at the University of Lausanne. The FAE aims to defend the rights and interests of students, represent them in dealings with internal university and political bodies, and promote equality. It also offers direct assistance by advising students and providing selective support to those in financial difficulty. Finally, the FAE actively participates in university life and organizes various events.

YSMN – Young Swiss Muslim Network

The Young Swiss Muslim Network (YSMN) is an open platform dedicated to connecting committed young Muslims (youth, students, academics, and young adults) from various Muslim associations in Switzerland. The Young Swiss Muslim Network sees itself as Swiss citizens of Muslim backgrounds who are in contact and ongoing exchange with civil society actors as well as engaging in intra-Muslim dialogue. In this respect, they operate in a kind of “third space,” serving as mediators between civil society, other religious communities, and the Muslim association landscape. To fulfill this function, they create spaces in which this exchange can take place, common ground can be found, and in which they can engage constructively with the public.

SUJS – Swiss Union of Jewish Students

SUJS is the umbrella organization for Jewish student associations in Switzerland and represents students and young adults at the national level. SUJS is committed to three areas of responsibility: Supporting and coordinating local sections in all areas. Organizing its own events at the national level throughout Switzerland. Networking students internationally. The aim is to network, educate, and represent students and young adults and to strengthen Jewish identity and self-awareness.

VSN – Swiss Association of Student Organizations for Sustainability

The VSN is the umbrella organization for Swiss student organizations working on sustainability. Our goal is to implement sustainability in teaching, research, governance, strategy, public dialogue, and on campus. We raise awareness of sustainability among students and university staff through targeted measures, which leads to concrete demands and actions. Other projects contribute to a supraregional impact and support the implementation of sustainability as an institutional principle, especially in everyday university life.

SwiMSA – Swiss Medical Students’ Association

SwiMSA is the voice of over 9,000 medical students throughout Switzerland at the national and international level. It aims to raise awareness among students about the health of society and motivate them to become better doctors through engagement. SwiMSA actively promotes networking among medical students and is committed to improving education. Further information about SwiMSA and its history can be found here.

ESN – Erasmus Student Network

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Switzerland is the non-profit oriented, politically independent and voluntary umbrella association of all 14 Swiss local ESN Sections. It is also a part of ESN International, the largest student association in Europe, present in more than 1000 Higher Education Institutions from 42 countries, forming a strong and growing network.
