Networking with education policy stakeholders
- When it comes to university policy issues, the VSS is connected with the other university associations, for example we work together with actionuni and swissfaculty .
- The VSS is connected with Network Future and uses this cooperation for regular exchanges on education policy.
- FH-Switzerland is the umbrella organization for Swiss graduates of universities of applied sciences. The VSS is in close contact with the management and the board and regularly writes columns for the fhnews platform.
- Movetia is the national agency for the promotion of exchange and mobility in the education system. The VSS is connected with it and works with it on common denominators.
- The VSS is invited every year as a guest to the Bürgenstock Conference (Conference of Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences and Universities of Teacher Education).
- As the national representative of students, the VSS is an important point of contact for the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). The VSS is regularly consulted by SERI on important topics in education, particularly with regard to the Bologna Process.
- We benefit from the network of VSS alumni/alumnae.
Networking with student associations
- PsyCH is the umbrella organization for Swiss psychology students. They organize projects, events and training courses for their members in various subject areas.
Networking with internationalpartners
- In the TOPICS network, we work together with student bodies from all over Europe with a similar educational policy orientation, but we also see ourselves as open to seeking discussions and working together with other international student bodies. The TOPICS network consists of the national student associations from Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, France, Austria and Italy.
- SwissCorethe Contact Office for European Research, Innovation and Education, is a Swiss institution in Brussels. It is the interface between Switzerland and the EU in the fields of education and research. A two-day seminar is held once a year, bringing together Swiss universities (usually the International Offices), SERI, Movetia and other representatives from Swiss education policy.
Member of international organizations
- The European Students’ Union is the umbrella organization of 46 national student associations from forty countries, including the VSS.
- The SAJV is recognized as the umbrella organization of youth associations and as the voice of young people at federal level. It maintains close contact with the Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO), which is responsible for youth policy at federal level. It has a seat on the most important political committees and is networked with parliamentarians from all political groups. The SNYC also has a seat in NGO networks and is closely intertwined with them.
- The VSS is a member of the NGO Education Coalitionwhich is made up of organizations from the fields of development, youth, health, human rights and the environment and has members and cooperation partners who want to promote education for sustainable development.
- The Mental Health Network Switzerland (NPG) is an association of organizations, institutions and companies that are committed to mental health in Switzerland. The aim is to contribute to improving the mental health of the population in Switzerland.

- As the national umbrella organization for student bodies in Switzerland, the VSS has a seat on many committees and umbrella organizations and has the right to submit proposals, have a say and, in some cases, even vote.
