In 2013/14, the third and final round of quality audits at Swiss universities took place under the University Funding Act. Under the HFKG, there are no longer any quality audits, only accreditations.
Quality audits in Switzerland were evaluation procedures focusing on the quality assurance system of a university.
In order to achieve the goal of integrating students and student bodies into all processes of the quality audits, the Swiss Student Union, together with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Agency (OAQ, now AAQ), submitted a project proposal to the State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation (SBFI). Funding for the project made it possible to prepare and train student bodies specifically for their role in the quality audits.
